WV Supreme Court upholds $706,127 judgment obtained by Attorney Mike Nogay in Hancock County

On November 16,  2018, the West Virginia Supreme Court by a 5-0 vote unanimously upheld a $706,127 judgment awarded by Hancock Circuit Court Judge David Sims to Plaintiff Ron Cross.

Attorney Mike Nogay represented Mr. Cross in the case which arose from the demolition of an industrial building in New Cumberland. The trial court judgment included $250,000 in rare punitive damages in a breach of contract case that were upheld on appeal.

Attorney Max Nogay, who was still in law school at the time, assisted his father in researching and writing the successful brief in the state Supreme Court. Follow the link below to read the Court’s Memorandum Decision:
